Gmail and BlastWiz

How the Gmail connection works, how to turn it off, and how to have your data deleted. The full detail is in the privacy policy.

The short version

What connecting Gmail does

The BlastWiz AI Agent emails merchants as you, so their replies land in your Gmail inbox. When you connect Gmail, BlastWiz gets read-only access so the agent can see those replies and answer them.

After you connect, BlastWiz:

  • Checks about once a minute for mail that arrived after you connected.
  • Looks at the headers of each new email (such as sender, recipients, subject and date) to decide whether it belongs to a merchant conversation the AI Agent is working for you.
  • Opens in full only emails from those merchants, replies to emails the agent sent, and emails you send those merchants from Gmail. It does not open or keep the rest.
  • Saves those emails with your conversation in BlastWiz.
  • Sends their text to Anthropic's Claude, the AI model your company has connected, so the agent can write the next reply.
  • Files PDF documents attached to those emails to your company's deal system, if your company has connected one, so you do not have to download and upload them by hand.
  • Pauses the agent on a conversation when you email that merchant yourself.

BlastWiz never sends, deletes, labels or changes anything in Gmail.

How to connect

  1. In BlastWiz, open Settings, then My AI Agent profile.
  2. In the Gmail box, press Connect Gmail.
  3. Read what BlastWiz will do, tick the box to agree, and press Continue to Google.
  4. Sign in to Google with the email address on your AI Agent profile and allow read-only access. BlastWiz accepts only that mailbox.

How to disconnect in BlastWiz

  1. In BlastWiz, open Settings, then My AI Agent profile.
  2. In the Gmail box, press Disconnect Gmail.
  3. Confirm.

An administrator at your company can also disconnect your Gmail from the AI Agent settings.

How to remove access at Google

  1. Go to https://myaccount.google.com/permissions and sign in.
  2. Choose BlastWiz in the list of apps with access to your account.
  3. Remove its access.

BlastWiz notices at its next check, stops reading, deletes the stored access token, and tells you in the app. The AI Agent keeps working by text.

What happens to your data when you disconnect

  • Access. When you disconnect in BlastWiz, BlastWiz asks Google to cancel the access and deletes the stored access token and connection details straight away. It stops reading your mailbox.
  • Emails already imported.They stay with the conversation in BlastWiz, as part of your company's records, until your company has them deleted.
  • Documents already filed.PDF documents that were filed to your company's deal system stay there. BlastWiz also keeps its own copy until it is deleted.
  • Your Gmail. Nothing in your mailbox changes. BlastWiz never had permission to change it.

How to ask for deletion

Email [email protected]from the address on your BlastWiz account. Say which rep or which conversations you mean, or ask for everything imported from your Gmail. We will delete the imported emails and BlastWiz's copies of the documents within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep them.

Imported emails are part of your company's records, so we may confirm the request with an administrator at your company. Documents already filed in your company's deal system are managed there.
